If you've not been keeping up with what has been going on at the Port of Galveston over the past few years, then you have missed a lot. The management and visionaries behind that operation have already embarked on some aggressive new construction, and they're constantly working to bring in new ships, new cruise lines, and new destinations for a very travel-hungry and cruise-conscious part of the country.

Carnival Cruise Line made the announcement official in a press release concerning the cruise line's plans for the 2027/2028 cruise season and for ships sailing out of the Port of Galveston. Carnival has announced it will now be offering four different ships out of the Texas port during the 2027/2028 cruise season.

What Carnival Ships Will Be Sailing Out of Galveston, Texas?

The ships that will spend time in the home port of Galveston will be Carnival Horizon, Carnival Spirit, Carnival Breeze, and Carnival Jubilee. This change in assets comes as Carnival has just recently announced that the Carnival Dream will be leaving Galveston in May of 2027.

Fans of the Carnival Dream won't have to travel too far to catch up with her, though. That vessel is being moved from a homeport in Galveston to a homeport in New Orleans.

Can You Sail Through The Panama Canal From Galveston, Texas?

The Carnival Horizon will debut in Galveston on May 19, 2027. The ship will offer an 8-day sailing that covers popular destinations in the Western Caribbean. After the initial 8-day itinerary, Horizon will focus on four and five-day sailings to destinations in the Western Caribbean with a focus on Cozumel and Progresso.

The Carnival Spirit will arrive in Galveston in the fall of 2027 after it wraps up its season in Alaska. By the way, if you've ever wanted to make a passage through the Panama Canal, the Carnival Spirit will do that during a repositioning cruise as it heads to Galveston in October of 2027. Speak to your travel agent or visit the Carnival website for details on that. Trust me, going through the Panama Canal is bucket list material.

The Carnival Breeze will make an adjustment when the Dream and Horizon arrive in Texas. That ship will shift to offering seven-day sailings that include destinations in the Eastern Caribbean. The Breeze will offer a Christmas Day sailing in December of 2027 and will complement its 7-day itinerary with a couple of 14-day sailings on offer.

The Carnival Jubilee will continue to offer six and eight-night itineraries, which include destinations in the Gulf and Caribbean. The Jubilee was the first LNG-powered cruise ship to sail from a Texas port, and it offers accommodations for 6,400 guests.

Look for details on these sailings and other itineraries offered not only out of Galveston but also New Orleans and other ports, as Carnival is now booking passage on vessels for the 2027/2028 cruise year.
