The San Augustine County Rodeo Returns on September 11th and 12th

When people think about Deep East Texas rodeos, the first ones that come to mind are the Nacogdoches and Angelina County rodeos. That's because they're the biggest ones around here. However, our other counties put on pretty great rodeos, too. And one of them is coming up soon.

The San Augustine County Rodeo is September 11th and 12th

The San Augustine County Chamber of Commerce Rodeo is coming up on Friday, September 11th and Saturday, September 12th at 1109 Oaklawn Street in San Augustine. This year's rodeo is being presented by Badders Law Firm, Spectrum and 4-Kings Cattle Co. Admission for each night is $5.

Both nights get started at 6:30 PM with Mutton Bustin' for the kids, followed by all of the traditional rodeo events - bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, team roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, and bull riding.

San Augustine County Rodeo Theme Nights

Both nights this year have a specific theme, and both of them are for great causes. Friday night is Patriotic Night, sponsored by Prime Energy Services. All attendees are encouraged to wear their best red, white and blue gear out in honor of our troops, veterans and in memory of 9/11/2001.

Saturday night is Childhood Cancer Awareness Night, sponsored by Piney Forest Products, LLC and D&I Wood Products, Inc. This night, they're encouraging all attendees to wear gold. This is in honor of all children that are battling cancer, but I'm told that they'll be specifically honoring a local two-year old that night.
