Old Farmers Almanac Hints At Wetter May For Deep East Texas Residents
It seems like we've been seeing more burn bans in Deep East Texas this year and haven't had near the amount of precipitation that is needed to keep those away. If the bans do get lifted, it seems that they get reinstated not too long after that. However, if the old Farmer's Almanac is correct with their predictions, the Month of May might change this trend.
May in Deep East Texas is Predicted to Be Cooler and Wetter
According to the Old Farmer's Almanac prediction, the month of May is predicted to have precipitation levels of 8" in our Deep East Texas area. That's three inches above what we normally get in the month of May. They're also predicting for temperatures to average around 73.5° for the month, which is 2° below normal for this time of year.

One Other Weather Prediction to Keep an Eye on in May
There was one more prediction that kind of caught my eye in the Old Farmer's Almanac. It said to watch for a tropical storm threat in late May, right around the end of the month. I do know that it's not normal to see tropical activity of that magnitude that early in the season. But I'm not a meteorologist.
