Everyone loves good causes. Everyone - alright, alright - MOST people love hamburgers. When you put those two things together, you get greatness, right? Well, two organizations in Nacogdoches are teaming up to do just that.

Nacogdoches Jaycees & SFA Chi Alpha Hamburger Fundraiser

Right now, the Nacogdoches Jaycees and the SFA Chi Alpha Campus Ministry - no, it's not part of a sorority or fraternity at SFA - are hosting a hamburger fundraiser to renovate the Chi Alpha House on North Street. All proceeds from the event will go to renovations on the house, including repairing siding and trim, replacing windows, and painting.

This is not a walk-up fundraiser the day of the event. Orders must be placed before April 20th. April 24th, orders that have been placed can be picked up at the CBTX Baxter Building in Downtown Nacogdoches anytime between 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM. Plates cost $14 each and will include a burger with fixings, fries, dessert and drink.

More information, including how to get a plate ordered, can be found on the Facebook post below:

I don't know if you saw it on that post or not, but the Nacogdoches Jaycees organization will be matching the proceeds from the sales! That means that those donations go even farther to get even more work done!

So, like I said, this is for a good cause. Why wouldn't you want to at least consider it? There's still time left to get orders in and plenty of time left to make plans to pick up your order on the 24th. It's definitely worth looking into.

Burger Toppings - Other Than Lettuce + Tomato

The hamburger is probably one of America's favorite foods. And while you can eat them plain, most people add toppings to theirs to make them even more delicious. Besides the condiments (i.e. ketchup, mustard, maybe mayonnaise and barbecue sauce), the standard toppings usually include some combination of cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onion. Those standard toppings represent the majority of burgers that get made and eaten. However, some people look for other toppings to take their burgers "over-the-top". Read on for some ideas you might not have thought of before.
