This title of Community Rockstar goes to people that are doing awesome things for the Deep East Texas area. This week's recipient is doing just that, in lots of different ways.

Reverend Alex Don Mills is this Week's Deep East Texas Community Rockstar

Our newest Deep East Texas Community Rockstar is Rev. Alex Don Mills. According to the nomination that we received, "Rev. Alex Don Mills is a respected pillar in the community whose influence is felt across the church, civic life, and local business."

He is the pastor of Little Zion Baptist Church in Nacogdoches, and he is also the moderator of the East Texas #2 District Association. The nominator said, "He helps strengthen and unify churches across the region, building cooperation and shared vision among leaders."

Not only is he a pastor, but he's a business owner as well. Rev. Mills is the owner of Mills Paint and Body Shop. They went on to say, "He contributes to local economic growth and provides trusted service that reflects his integrity."

He is also active in the community in other ways. He is actively involved with the NAACP and other community efforts. The nomination said he "advocates for fairness, opportunity, and progress for underserved communities." The line that drives it on home was this: "Rev. Don Mills is a community rockstar because he consistently shows up in every space he occupies, blending faith, leadership, service, and enterprise into a life dedicated to lifting others and strengthening the community as a whole."

Because of all that he's doing, not just in his church and his business, but in the Deep East Texas area, Rev. Alex Don Mills will be receiving a framed certificate from Q107 and Zion Auto Glass, along with a gift certificate to Lone Star Charlie's in Lufkin. If you know someone that's doing great things for Deep East Texas like he is, you can nominate them at the link below:
