Join This Solar Eclipse Downtown Nacogdoches Watch Party
For the best solar eclipse experience, you want to be in the path of totality. Nacogdoches is close, and according to the SFA Observatory, the moon will cover 97 percent of the sun at 1:44 PM on April 8, 2024.
People who search out these celestial occurrences say that anything less than 100 percent totality is unacceptable. We are close to parts of North East Texas that will have totality if you are off work and able to go.
It's a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence and gives you the best chance to see an eclipse. Several unforeseen issues could mess up your perfectly timed experience, such as excessive traffic or cloud cover.
Attend This Downtown Nacogdoches Solar Eclipse Watch Party
Suppose you aren't planning to gamble on the path of totality, and still want to have a shared experience of the solar eclipse. In that case, the Nacogdoches Public Library and Visit Nacogdoches are putting on a watch party in Festival Park.
You can gather with your fellow citizens and witness this historic event in beautiful downtown Nacogdoches. They will have things on hand that you can use to make the experience even better:
The SFA Observatory will provide the solar eclipse telescopes. The party starts at 11:30 AM and ends at 2:30 on Monday, April 8, 2024. This is a free event and there is no registration necessary.
