Lanana Creek Trail originally started as an Indian footpath in Nacogdoches. This well-worn trail was used before the "Oldest Town In Texas" came to be.

The sometimes muddy trail goes straight through Nacogdoches and offers a quick down-and-back hike or bike ride. It now has a great new addition.

The Frances Shofner Memorial Loop has just opened, and now you can take a turn-off to the east on the northern part of the trail. It circles through a beautiful wooded area that opens up to a remote pond before reuniting with the trail.
