Three Texas Firefighters Arrested After Junior Member Comes Forward
(KNUE-FM) Three North Texas firefighters have been arrested on child sex crime charges, after they allegedly ‘victimized’ a 16-year-old junior firefighter. According to WFAA, the girl told investigators the sexual contact began in January of 2022. The firefighters who worked as volunteers in Howe, were also working in Irving, Melissa, and Allen.
All three firefighters were arrested, two of them being placed on leave from their full-time positions with the Allen and Irving Fire Departments, spokespeople stated. The third firefighter has already resigned his position with the Melissa Fire Department which took place on the day he was arrested.
The girl who was not named came forward in May of 2025, with allegations of multiple members of the department dating back to her time as a junior firefighter in 2022.

Details of the Allegations and Arrests
The girl said that David Perez-Glass, 33, working for the Howe Fire Department, assaulted her more than two dozen times when she was underage between January 2022 and January 2023. She described sexual assaults at the fire station and in a storage facility in Van Alstyne according to the arrest documents.
She told investigators Perez-Glass thought she might be pregnant and “told her she might need to use a coat hanger to stop the pregnancy.” Another instance she said she “was continuously asking Perez-Glass to stop”.
She told investigators that Perez-Glass told her “he would kill her if she ever told anyone” also that he thought they were in a relationship.
Admissions from the Accused Firefighters
Investigators said that Perez-Glass “admitted to having a consensual sexual relationship” with the girl “also admitting to knowing that she was younger than 17 years of age at the time.”
Perez-Glass was booked into jail on three counts of sexual assault by a child.
The junior firefighter said she had sex with Dalton McCaslin, also a Howe volunteer firefighter when she was 16 in his apartment after reaching out to members of the department because she was upset and “wanted to get away from her family.”
Investigators say that he “admitted to having a consensual sexual relationship” with the girl and admitted that he knew she was younger than 17 at the time, according to documents.
The girl also admitted to having a sexual encounter with Joshua Ryals, another Howe volunteer firefighter. She said he “grabbed her sexually, kissed her and asked her to ‘feel him’ ‘down there,” according to affidavits. The document said she told investigators Ryals stopped during the incident and said: “You’re sixteen, what am I doing?”
The affidavit said he “admitted to having a sexual interaction” with the girl while she was at the Howe Fire Station.
Departmental Fall-out and Resignations
Ryals resigned from the Melissa Fire Department hours before his arrest.
The Howe Fire Chief Robert Maniet submitted his resignation on February 12.
