We all know there has been construction downtown Tyler, and that construction will continue until the project is done. While it might be difficult at times, the final product will look beautiful for our downtown area. But I also want to make sure you're aware of the parking changes that have just gone into effect.

How Much Will Downtown Tyler Parking Cost?

The changes begin today as downtown Tyler will enforce paid parking via the Honk app ($2 for 2 hours, $1 for an extra hour), with free parking on weekends/holidays and for disabled drivers.

The enforcement will take place from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. But for this first week ONLY, there will be warnings given for those who are unfamiliar with the new parking rules for downtown.

Where Can You Park for Free in Downtown Tyler?

There will be two free parking garages that will be available if you don't want to pay to park. The first one will be the Fair Plaza Garage located at 208 South College Ave. The Second one will be the Smith County Garage located at 210 East Ferguson Street.

There are also paid lots: Plaza Tower & People’s Parking Lot A & B (North Bois D’Arc Ave) — $1/hr or $10/day; free after 5 p.m. and weekends.

I just want to make sure you're aware of the changes and avoid getting any citation for not following the new rules for parking downtown Tyler.
