There will be plenty of holiday activities in Huntington on Saturday, December 6. The day will begin with a Christmas parade, followed by a huge holiday shopping event at the high school, and then capped off with a presentation of 'The Grinch'.

Huntington Christmas Parade

This annual tradition will get underway at 10 am on Main Street near the HISD Administration building. Parade lineup will start at 9 am along Mulberry Street (beside the Huntington Middle School gym). The parade route will travel along Main Street, turn onto Ash Street, pass Huntington Healthcare, and return along 6th Street to finish at the Middle School for rider pickup and float unloading.

Candy Cane Lane

This yearly holiday shopping event began in 2011 and is hosted by the Huntington Highsteppers. It begins at 11 am at the commons, gym, and cafeteria areas of Huntington High School. There is no charge for admission, but donations are appreciated.

The 2025 edition of Candy Cane Lane will feature over 65 vendors, the most in the event's 15-year history. Some familiar vendors will be returning to this year's event, but about half of the vendors are new to this year's Candy Cane Lane. This is an excellent opportunity to find some unique gift-giving ideas.

Susan's Studio of Dance competition teams will be performing at the start of the event, plus the Huntington Band Boosters will be selling chicken spaghetti plates throughout the day. The cast and crew of 'The Grinch', who will be performing that evening, will be on hand for photo booth opportunities.

Saturday evening, members of Huntington High School's One Act Play will perform their version of 'The Grinch' inside the auditorium. Admission is $5. The performance begins at 6 pm, but attendees are encouraged to arrive early for a sing-along of Christmas carols before the show starts. The wearing of Christmas pajamas is encouraged.
