The threat of heavy downpours is expected to decrease later in the afternoon. However, rain chances will continue through the weekend. There will be some lingering slight rain chances on Monday and Tuesday, but, by the time we get to mid-week, we should return to dry weather and normal temperatures with highs reaching the mid-90s.
Although downpours and flooding are possible, the Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma is not anticipating any of these storms in East Texas to reach severe limits.
