Brookshire Brothers has been a part of the Lufkin and Deep East Texas community since 1921. The grocery store chain now operates nearly 120 locations that stretch west to the Texas Hill Country and east to Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Recently, Brookshire Brothers announced several advancements within its corporate office in Lufkin.

Mitch Carroll - Vice President of Retail Operations

Mitch Carroll began working at Brookshire Brothers in Jacksonville, Texas at the age of 16. Since then, he has served in a variety of leadership roles throughout the company, including as a store director in multiple locations, district director, and most recently, director of Retail Operations.

Carroll and his wife DeLane reside in Lufkin with their two sons, Jax and Cash, and they have four grown children.

Russ Reeder - Vice President of Tobacco and Specialty Beverage

In 1987, Russ Reeder began working as a sacker at Brookshire Brothers in Sulphur, Louisiana. Within four years, he was a store director in Sulphur. From there, he served as a store director in multiple locations throughout the company until 2012, at which time he was promoted to District Director. In 2019, Reeder assumed the role of Director of Tobacco Operations and subsequently assumed the oversight of the Specialty Beverage Operations.

Reeder resides in Lufkin with his wife, Carey, and daughter, Kylee.

Corry Lankford - Director of Marketing

In 2002, Lankford began his career with Brookshire Brothers in Alto, Texas, as a cashier and stocker. He was promoted to assistant manager in 2004. In 2008, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas, with bachelor’s degrees in Marketing and Human Resource Management. Throughout this time, Lankford worked at several Brookshire Brothers locations, helping train office clerks, cashiers, and stockers.

In 2008, Lankford began his corporate career at Brookshire Brothers in the Payroll Department and transitioned to the Marketing team in 2010. During that time, he obtained certifications in graphic design, helped launch the Brookshire Brothers Anywhere online ordering program and advanced to Director of Advertising and eCommerce.

Lankford resides with his wife Adriana in Lufkin and they have one son, Sebastian.

Maxx Gandy - Retail Systems Director

Gandy worked for seven years at the Lufkin Best Buy store, with four of those years serving as the store’s manager.

His Brookshire Brothers career began 11 years ago in the IT Department, first as a software application technician and most recently as Retail Systems Manager. Gandy and his team oversee all of the retail stores’ electronic equipment systems.

Gandy and his wife Angela reside in Pollok with their three boys, Brexx, Reed and Will.

“Each of these men have served Brookshire Brothers faithfully for decades, and with their extensive experience, insight and dedication, they have demonstrated exceptional leadership within their specific areas of expertise,” said President and CEO John Alston. “As they each undertake their new roles, we are confident they will continue to focus their efforts on driving success and innovation within the organization.”
